Renovations are currently underway for the shopping centers Arvada Marketplace and Arvada Connection located at the intersection of Wadsworth and W. 51nd Avenue. The Arvada Marketplace was acquired by Pine Tree, LLC in August 2015, and the renovations that are in process are resulted from the analysis of how to best increase foot-traffic for retailers while increasing the centers’ value and long-term viability.

In addition to general aesthetic improvements being made across both centers, with some renovations being completed this month, Arvada Marketplace’s western-most shopping area is undergoing the most dramatic evolution. Now dubbed the “Shops West at Arvada Marketplace,” when finished the space is slated to have new restaurant tenants, outdoor seating, a more pedestrian-friendly atmosphere, and a small outdoor space for games, fireplaces, small live music shows, and more. As of July 2016, Bad Daddy’s, Smashburger, Costa Vita, and Pie 5 Pizza are scheduled to appear in the Shops West space. Pine Tree is investing more than $8 million in these new property enhancements. The new Shops West space is currently expected to open Spring 2017.

As a result of these renovations, some tenants were relocated. The UPS Store, Hearing Life, and Rent-a-Center have all been relocated and are now open for regular business. Urgent Care has commenced construction of its new location but is expected to close its doors from August 2nd until the new space is completed, an estimated three months later.

Pine Tree’s marketing team is dedicated to enhancing the customer experience at its shopping centers. The team has turned its attention to Arvada Marketplace, introducing a new, simple logo design that will soon be featured prominently on signage being replaced at the corner of Wadsworth and 52nd, on brand-new signage along 52nd, and on proposed wayfinding signage inside the center. A Facebook page has been created (www.facebook.com/arvadashopping) where the community can find the latest updates on the shopping centers, its tenants, coupons, and on-site events.

The Arvada community will see many changes in the next year at Arvada Marketplace and Arvada Connection, and Pine Tree is thrilled to be a part of this exciting opportunity.
