Bruce L. Boruszak

Prior to joining Pine Tree, Bruce Boruszak was a partner in, and co-chair of the Real Estate Practice Group at, the Chicago law firm of Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon LLP. Mr. Boruszak has over thirty years of experience in documenting and negotiating real estate transactions, workouts and joint ventures, including structuring of real estate acquisitions, shopping center and other commercial development, leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, financing and tax-deferred exchanges. He has extensive experience in joint venture transactions for the acquisition and development of real estate, in particular shopping centers and office buildings.
Mr. Boruszak’s experience in the real estate financing area includes representing both borrowers and lenders and includes both construction and permanent financing and loan workouts. He also has extensive experience in the area of leasing, representing both landlords and tenants in connection with shopping centers, office buildings and industrial facilities.
Mr. Boruszak received his B.S. with highest honors from the University of Illinois and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan where he was an Associate Editor of the University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform and a member of the Order of the Coif. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Boruszak is an active member of the bar in the States of Illinois (1982) and California (2003). Mr. Boruszak has received the highest peer rating (AV) by Martindale Hubbell. Mr. Boruszak is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, and the Illinois, California and Arizona Bar Associations and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
He is a board member of the 175 East Delaware Homeowners Association, and chairs numerous committees. Previously, Bruce was a member of the Dean’s Business Advisory Council for the University of Illinois College of Business and the Board of Directors of the University of Illinois College of Business Alumni Association. He was previously a member of the North Shore Cable Commission, serving the Villages of Northbrook and Glenview in connection with starting up and regulating cable television and has served on the Deerfield Public School District 109 Caucus. Mr. Boruszak has been a guest lecturer at the Kellogg Graduate School of Business, Northwestern University and the University of Illinois College of Business, and has spoken at seminars sponsored by RESSI concerning the negotiation of real estate contracts.
Mr. Boruszak is married and has two children.
