We are the proverbial "starving artists" that enjoy creating art objects and hope to support ourselves through our work.  We can be painters, photographers, graphic designers, sculptures, musicians, or all of the above at different times, from different inspirations.

Unlike hard science, art is in the emotional realm.  An artist sees an inspirational scene or hears sounds that resonate with their soul, and attempts to capture its beauty and awe on film, canvas, or other media.  Sometimes the inspirational scene or sound originates in the artist's mind, and then is presented in the media for others to enjoy.  If seeing the artist's work creates emotions in the observer, then the artist has succeeded, communicating on an emotional, subconscious channel and sharing feelings in indescribable ways.
